SkillSea will be present at Europort 2021. On 5 November at 13.00 we will give a presentation on the innovation stage about future-proof skills for maritime professionals with the title: How to address future maritime industry needs in maritime education?

Attention maritime industry and lecturers and students of maritime schools or training institutes! We invite you to an interactive discussion. What requirements should maritime education meet, in your opinion? Which skills are still lacking in recent graduates? What trends are happening in the sector, and how can we best prepare students for this? We would be happy to talk to you and are curious about your opinion and ideas.

Next to an interactive discussion, we would like to take the opportunity to present the project SkillSea to you.

The four-year SKILLSEA project is launched to ensure that maritime professionals in Europe possess key digital, green and leadership skills for the rapidly changing maritime labour market. Technology and digitalisation are transforming the shipping industry. ‘Smart’ ships are coming into service, creating demand for a new generation of competent, highly-skilled maritime professionals. Europe is a traditional global source of maritime expertise. SkillSea seeks to not only produce a sustainable skills strategy for European maritime professionals but also to increase the number of these professionals - enhancing the safety and efficiency of this vital sector.
